There are SO many options for essential oils– Target, Walmart, health food stores, even seemingly unrelated MLM companies like Origami Owl (jewelry) and Scentsy (smell-good). But then there are the “more expensive” essential oil companies like doTERRA and Young Living. So why Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils, when there are so many other, less expensive options?
Well, it starts with the FDA. When it comes to essential oils, the FDA only requires there to be 10% essential oil in order to be labeled 100% essential oil. How crazy is that?! That means there’s up to 90% filler, synthetic oil, and mystery liquid in that bottle. I, for one, don’t want that anywhere near my family, my kids, or my home. It also means that the consumer (you) has to do their research when it comes to choosing essential oils for their own use.
I chose doTERRA. doTERRA is the only company on the market that not only provides the safest, most effective oils, but also does it in the most environmentally-friendly way. Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade (CPTG) is a standard that doTERRA came up with for themselves because they felt the government’s definition wasn’t high enough.
doTERRA is also the ONLY company that allows you to find the graph that shows the chemical constituency of every single bottle of oil by searching the code on the bottom of your bottles of essential oils. All you have to do is go to sourcetoyou.com and plug it in! No other company is this transparent because, I believe, no other company is this safe.
