Y’all, Texas is hot. Like, REALLY hot. It’s November and it’s going to be above 90* today. (What the heck?!) Staying hydrated is a challenge for me because I get bored quickly with water, but just drinking coffee is apparently a no-no. I still maintain that it’s made with water and therefore healthy, but my doctor disagrees, so I try my best to make sure I get enough “real” water in, too. The ONLY way I can do that is by drinking fruit-infused water. That said, ain’t nobody got time to wait around for the water to become tasty in this state, so I’ve started making Instant Pot infused water instead.
By making infused water in the Instant Pot, I make a concentrate that I can turn into ice cubes to drop in a water bottle of plain water, a glass of plain water, or put sticks in for popsicles. If I waited too long to make it, I’ll pour it into a pitcher, dilute it, and stick it in the fridge for the next couple of days (because patience IS a virtue, but it’s not one I have).
Below, you’ll find 7 recipes for Instant Pot infused water that will tickle your tastebuds. Four more flavor ideas that would be yummy? Blackberry mint, lemon lavender, watermelon basil, citrus mint, rosemary lemon, or strawberry lime. The key is to have about a cup of fruit or veggies so you get enough flavor in the water to make it delicious. If you’re into essential oils (and you should be), you can absolutely substitute any of the flavors with the associated essential oil or use essential oils to up the flavor of that fruit or herb after you infuse it– wild orange, lemon, lime, cinnamon, basil, peppermint, tangerine, etc. would all be great choices. If you choose to use essential oils in your water, they can have some great benefits– just make sure you’re using the safest ones on the market.

Instant Pot Infused Water Recipes
1 c cucumber
Juice and zest of 1 lime
1 c blueberries
Juice and zest of 1 lemon
1/2 c raspberries
1 c peaches
1 c apples
2 cinnamon sticks
1 c orange slices and zest
5 large basil leaves
1 c strawberries
1/4 c mint leaves
1 c blueberries
Juice and zest of one orange
- Place the fruit into a steamer basket and set the steamer basket in the Instant Pot (not required, but it makes getting the fruit out easier).
- Cover the fruit with water, about 5 cups.
- Set your Instant Pot to manual high pressure for 5 minutes.
- Once it’s done, quick pressure release it and pour into a pitcher to use as concentrate or ice cube trays to freeze for later.
